I am an experienced tutor specializing in O & A Levels, with a strong track record of helping students achieve top grades and develop a genuine understanding of their subjects. I offer personalized lessons in English, Business Studies, Urdu, Islamiyat, Sociology, and Economics, tailoring my teaching style to suit each student’s needs and learning pace. Education
I appeared for my O-II exams through my school and my O-III exams as a private candidate. My electives included Business, Economics, and Sociology. I attained 4 As, 3 Bs, and 1 C (mathematics).
I appeared for my A Levels as a private candidate in Economics, Sociology, and Urdu. I was able to score 1 A and 2 Bs.
I am currently pursuing my Bachelor's in Psychology with a GPA of 3.73.
Work & Experience
I tutored two students in grades 1 and 2, respectively. My teaching methods included, but were not limited to: 1. Use of real-life examples and engaging word-play to help the students better grasp the concepts. 2. Frequent breaks and playful activities to maintain their interest in learning despite the short attention span of adolescents. 3. Use of storytelling and visual aids to introduce new concepts and ideas, subsequently making abstract ideas more concrete.
I tutored two students in grades 4 & 7, respectively. The teaching methods included: 1. Personalized lesson plans to accommodate each child's cognitive needs. 2. Prioritizing critical thinking rather than rote memorization. 3. Reducing the burden of homework by compartmentalizing tasks to reach daily goals. 4. Self-assessment of concepts to ensure that the child is keeping up with the school's curriculum. 5. Quizzes taken personally by the teacher (in class) & individually by the students (at home) to solidify concepts and eliminate any queries regarding the topic.
I provided a crash course for the upcoming CIEs. The teaching methods included: 1. Encouraging open discussions while quoting several resource materials. 2. Emphasizing concept-building and storytelling rather than rote memorization. 3. Utilizing engaging videos & other informative media to help solidify concepts. Exam paper preparation: 1. Analyzing the marking scheme to understand the demands of the question. 2. Attempting past papers of the last 5-10 years to perfect the answer submission. 3. Understanding how to achieve a higher marking band by ensuring certain pre-requisites are present in the answers. 4. Providing resource materials such as apps to ensure self-assessment.
I got the opportunity to work with the marginalized community of Pakistan as a teacher at Door of Awareness (DHA Campus, Lahore). I was assigned to polish the students' public speaking skills. By the end of the community service, they were able to debate on topics given to them on the spot with an enhanced word bank and newfound confidence. I was able to achieve 40 hours of volunteer work out of this internship.
